Lost In Music are a fully professional (and really cool!) live party band, comprising the absolute cream of British singers and musicians. They are perfect for all functions – corporate events, weddings, large festivals, birthdays, bar (and bat)-mitzvahs, theatres outdoor events, etc.
They have an enormous set list (over 270 songs, and growing constantly!) and are hugely experienced (something of an understatement!) in playing all kinds of shows, all over the country and abroad. They are working constantly all over the UK and can incorporate many different (& superbly put together) costumed themes into their show such as Abba, 1970’s disco, Grease, 1980’s, James Bond, School Disco, 1950’s rock ‘n’ roll or Madonna.
The band can be booked either as a function band (with or without one of these themed sets), or as a tribute band, playing only a particular theme. All of the sets consist of the same singers and musicians. The list of companies they’ve played for reads like a who’s-who of corporate Britain:
British Airways, Nationwide Building Society, BBC, John Lewis, Pfizer, Tesco, Ryan Air, BT, Kuoni, Lancome, Ernst & Young, Institute of Directors, Haymarket Publishing etc and many many more. Lost In Music can be booked as a basic 6-piece band (male and female lead vocals, guitar / vocals, drums, keyboards / vocals, bass / vocals).
The band numbers can be flexible though, depending on the function. An extra female singer can be added (to allow costume changes mid-set) or you could upgrade to the incredibly exciting 11-piece (adding an extra female singer, an extra male singer, and a brass section) – this big band is a fantastic spectacle with four lead singers and makes it possible for the band to perform costumes changes mid-set.
For example, they could have two girls going off stage to change into an Abba costume while there are still two lead singers on stage whipping the audience up into a frenzy – the pace is relentless!
- Prices from £1500.00
There are lots of function bands around, some good, some not so good. So Lost In Music need a Unique Selling Point (USP) and it comes down to this – if you would like to book a band who stand still on stage whilst reading music, holding a pint, playing half-heartedly along to backing tracks and looking as though they would rather be somewhere else, then perhaps you need to look elsewhere. Lost In Music are a bunch of great musicians that want to enjoy what they do – play fantastic party music to get your guests moving – and their enthusiasm is completely infectious. They produce layer upon layer of rich vocal harmonies (there are plenty of singers in the band, not just the lead vocalists) and there is lots of energy on the stage. Your dance floor will be full from beginning to end and your guests will still be talking about them in years to come.
The band are managed by Kevin McCarthy who prides himself on his organisational skills – here is a musician (with a business background) who realises that, as much as this is a fun job for everyone, it is still a job that needs to run like clockwork.
Value for Money
Despite their musical CV, booking Lost In Music for your function is not as expensive as you might think. Please contact Festival Music Ltd for a quotation.
Lost In Music can bring a state-of-the-art PA system and lighting for your event so that they arrive fully self contained. Want music before, in-between and after the band’s live sets? No problem, they have professionally mixed compilations to keep everyone moving. It’s certainly not a case of pressing play on any old CD! Or, if you prefer, they will provide a real-life DJ for you. Please note – Lost In Music are a FULLY LIVE band, they do not record instruments and vocals onto a backing track – what you hear is what is being played live. They kind of assume that, if you want to hear drum machines, you’d book a DJ instead?
Put simply – Lost In Music are a fabulous band that will not let you down, no matter how large or small your event. Nowhere else will you find a band with such an outstanding CV and professional attitude at such a reasonable price! And they’re cool too….
Lost In Music can also morph into many variations…..here are just a few of them! Disco Inferno – all 1970’s disco music, performed in full disco costume including the infamous oversized afro wigs, sideburns, flares and kipper ties. Disco Inferno – all 1970’s disco music, performed in full disco costume including the infamous oversized afro wigs, sideburns, flares and kipper ties.
Do you long for the return of Saturday Night Fever? Disco Inferno perform all the classic disco party songs the way they were meant to be heard, and are guaranteed to produce party fever with their infectious energy-ridden performance.
Songs performed include gems from Sister Sledge, Village People, Bee Gees, Abba, Earth Wind & Fire, Gloria Gaynor, Kool & The Gang, Chic, The Nolans (The Nolans? Are they mad?), KC & The Sunshine Band, The Real Thing, Jacksons and lots more. See their complete fantastic set list which is, usefully, on the page marked ‘Set List’ above. Go on, click it, have a look.
The show is extremely dynamic and energetic, and nobody is immune to the beat (which is not too fast…..not too slow…..just perfect for a good old disco boogie). Disco Inferno can rightly claim to be the most original 1970s disco band around – they have earnt a fantastic reputation on the live circuit with their superb tongue-in-cheek show. Be there or be square, daddy-o!
Back To The 80’s – Are you a child of the 80’s? Remember going to see ‘Dirty Dancing’ or ‘Back To The Future’? Back To The 80’s are a live (and very lively) band, all dressed in completely over-the-top 1980’s costumes who will take you right back to those times. They play all the great 1980’s party songs from Wham, Madonna, Duran Duran, Cyndie Lauper, Kylie, Madness, Bananarama, Culture Club, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Toni Basil, Kim Wilde, Soft Cell, Katrina & The Waves, Dead Or Alive, Human League and lots more besides.
This band are also proud to play the songs that other bands will not touch with a proverbial bargepole, although ‘I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’ and ‘Fame’ always go down like a (another proverbial) house on fire…….Dare we mention ‘Making Your Mind Up’ or ‘Especially For You’? Maybe not, but they’ll play them anyway and get you waving your hands in the air and singing along as well!
Here’s a list of stuff that you may want to bring along to a Back To The 80s gig:
• Big, big hair. And then make it even bigger.
• Shoulder pads (as large as possible).
• Too much make-up. Even more for the men.
• Jacket with rolled-up sleeves and a t-shirt underneath.
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles outfit. What do you mean, you’ve thrown it away?!
• ….oh, and don’t forget your boogie shoes.
Skool Roolz – Imagine a band dressed in outrageous school uniform (and a headmaster), bouncing around the stage like there’s no tomorrow and playing all the cheesy hits that you used to dance around the handbag to when you were a kid. And playing them damned well. Now imagine your guests dressed in school uniform too (or, alternatively, just laughing at the band’s), boogying across the dance floor with perma-smiles etched on their faces. Unforgettable – this band just should not be allowed!
The band can even advise clients on where to buy their adult size costumes for a themed event.
Remember – Cheese Is The Word!
Rock ‘n’ Roll High School – Does anybody here know how to hand jive? You soon will! ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll High School’ are a fully live band (keyboards, bass guitar, drums, lead guitar, female lead vocals and male lead vocals) playing 1950’s rock ‘n’ roll classics and all the big party songs from the ‘Grease’ film. If you have ever watched the film, sung along with Summer Nights or boogied to Elvis, then this is the show for you!
You’re The One That I Want, Hound Dog, Greased Lightning, Beauty School Dropout, Blue Suede Shoes, We Go Together, Tutti Frutti, Summer Nights, Born To Hand Jive, Great Balls Of Fire, La Bamba, and loads more – all faithfully reproduced by the best bunch of professional musicians and singers on the circuit. Make no mistake, this band is fully live – no poor quality backing tapes here! Altogether there are 5 singers on stage, giving a huge vocal sound to go over the rockin’ band.
The whole gang are fully costumed, both for the first set of 1950s rock ‘n’ roll numbers and the second set of pure Grease. The band would like to invite you to dig out your ‘Pink Ladies’ outfit or your leather jacket (‘T-Birds’ insignia optional!) for a great night of Grease and rock ‘n roll!
The Dancing Queens – Ever wanted an Abba tribute band who actually play their instruments live, and look like they’re enjoying it? Look no further! The difference with the Dancing Queens is….it’s a fully live (yep, live!) 7-piece line-up with a full band, so none of those pesky backing tracks that sound like they were programmed in an Eastern European factory. There’s a big vocal harmony sound going on here but, rest assured, it’s all coming from their own lovely vocal cords, not from a laptop
hidden away in the corner.
Anna-Frid, Agnetha, Bjorn and Benny – they’re all here singing the biggest hits you love to sing along to, and all dressed in the height of 1970’s glam-Swedish fashion with dodgy Scandinavian accents.
And best of all….none of those irritating backing tapes, either.
